The Indian Medical Research has shown that over 60 percent of Indian men and women will observe some kind of hair fall by the time they reach forty. The figure is even more alarmingly high when it comes to damaged hair. The phenomenon of hair loss is not merely related to the health of the follicles or the scalp, but to a much broader issue of the overall health of a human being. Years of research has shown that hair loss occurs chiefly due to lifestyle related issues. One of the most influential lifestyle patterns that depreciate the health of the hair is our diet. As we all know, hair is literally a dead tissue like a fingernail. It is mainly why the dead tissue is unable to repair itself and is susceptible to permanent damage. The only living portion of the hair is located at the base of the follicle, i.e. the root of the hair. The root of the hair consists of a small bulb shaped bud called the papilla, which is filled with capillaries that provides nutrients to the hair. Both Iron and Iodine help the glands provide nourishment to the papilla. Thus, it is imperative that our body is provided with all the nutrients which indirectly reflect the health of our healthy hair.
